Made these cute little boots the other day. I think a wooded button will finish them off nicely. They ended up a little smaller than anticipated but that's why these were the practice run. The fabric is a little tricky to work with (bonded cuddle fabric) which makes seam allowances hard to gauge. They have a velcro closure to keep them on those sweet little feet. Found pattern here. My hope is to make a few larger pairs as gifts. With all this snow outside they sure will keep those tiny toes warm!
As much fun as we've had with this snow (there is currently a snow castle in my backyard - hooray for uncles!) it has taken it's toll on our wonderful trees. We've lost some large branches but I suppose the plus side to that is it opens up some more sunshine to my garden. Yay! I'm getting very excited that spring is around the corner and planning what seeds to start soon. Been enjoying Urban Farm Magazine and can't wait to get my hands on the new issue!
Totally unrelated...I'm lovin my new Mucha book. I'm a bit of a sucker for Art Nouveau. Picked up a Mucha print when I was in Brussels a few years back at a map/print shop close to Grand Place. I enjoyed several art walks around the beautiful city admiring the architecture from that influential period and a visit to the incredible Horta Museum which is so worth visiting if you find yourself in Brussels.
Well I must get back to my PlayDoh lovin, Elmo Farm Day listening little man. His brother, my 4 month old, has managed to learn how to wiggle around my craft room floor and is enjoying the new scenery.
